Experience
As communication specialist of the Communication Expertise Centre of the Eindhoven University of Technology I am responsible for internal & external communication of the department of Biomedical Engineering. This includes PR, marketing, study education/information, website editing, social media, writing texts brochures/leaflets, alumni policy, design promotional tools (e.g. displays, photographs), giving lectures at secondary schools, development of workshops for pupils, deans and teachers, networking, conferences, press contacts, training of student PR teams etc.
I recruited students for Biomedical Engineering. To do so I informed and rendered enthusiastic pupils, their parents, their teachers and deans about the Bachelor Biomedical Engineering.
Additionally, I contributed to the making and application of the communication policy
As a PhD-student at the Department of Multitrophic Interactions of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW in Heteren) I studied the genetical, chemical and ecological aspects of a glucosinolate polymorphism in Barbarea vulgaris (NWO-ALW grant no. 813.04.005).

As a student assistant I prepared practical work, explained experiments, reviewed student reports and critisized students of the following courses: "How to give a presentation" (2003), Ecophysiology of plants and animals (2003), Bioinformatics for chemists, biologists and molecular life scientists (2003) and "Biology and Society/Ehtics" (2003), Plantphysiology (2000), Microbiology (1999).

- Regulation of the development of constitutive aerenchyma in Juncus effusus.
Experimental plant ecology (RU, Eric Visser). - Molecular regulation of angiosperm female gametophyte development; an EST-analysis.
Plant cell biology (RU, Koen Weterings and C. Mariani). - Effect of habitat on cashing of Brazil nuts (Bertholletia exelsa).
Plant ecology (UU, Pieter Zuidema, Jacaranda van Rheenen and M. Werger) Field work: PROMAB, Bolivia (R. Boot). - Microbial ecology ( = development of a course of the study biology at the RU).
